The Role of Faith Leaders in Advancing Human Rights

The UN NGO Committee on Freedom of Religion or Belief will hold its next event Monday, June 19, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., in the Bahá’í International Community United Nations Office, located at 866 UN Plaza (Suite 120), New York, NY 10017.

Two recent initiatives, the Fez Plan of Action and Beirut Declaration on Religious Freedom, have brought together faith leaders to focus on articulating common commitments and ways in which they can stand for human rights and prevent atrocities more effectively.

Speakers will include:

  • Gillian Kitley, Senior Officer in the UN Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect.
  • Laura Pereira, Human Rights Officer, UN Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights.

RSVP is required. To RSVP, email your name and affiliation to unforb@gmail.com
